It’s not costing you anything to keep them listed. I don’t see the point of pulling then from the shelf. Unless they’re KDP select, which prevents you from spreading to other markets like Nook and Smashwords.
Thank you for your comment, but they are at give away prices and not selling, tired of checking and promoting something that just will not get attention. Thanks again, Ann
This may seem strange and I completely understand why you are deciding to do this, but I want you to know how often your blog and the fact you have books on amazon have inspired me. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that when I have thought of putting together a book, and it has seemed overwhelming, I have thought of your work. And so often, I have thought about you “She made it happen with several book. That is so brave. I can do at least one.” We never know how we impact others 🙂
Oh Kimberly, I had no idea my work had any impact on anyone. When you see “likes” clicked on your blog it does not mean that the viewer has read it, they click like and go to the next one. This was never more evident than when some of what i thought to be loyal followers clicked “like” when I announced that I was removing the books. I am in Amazon’s KDP which means that I cannot place my books anywhere, not even another publisher as long as I am with KDP. It is a wonderful place to start, get the experience of publishing in cyberspace. My thoughts are to place the four poetry books (all few pages, thus the low price) into one volume. I you ever want to connect direct my author email is annjohnsonmurphree.author@gmail.com
HI Ann, thanks for the more complete explanation. makes total sense to me. But more so, thank you for being brave enough and smart enough to put your work out there. You have been a touchstone for me.
I like your poems a lot! And every time I have pushed the like button, I have read the story or poem and really liked it. I understand your decision to combine and go broader but you can still remain on Amazon too, just not in the restrictive kdp program. I am just publishing my first novel in paperback and on kdp as well in the next week but plan to stay there only for a short time. I know that selling poetry is hard but still collecting my poems into a book right now…we artists and poets have to be stubborn and persistent 🙂
Thank you, and you mentioned “like” button, so many push it and they do not read. I try every so often to leave a comment so followers know that I am reading their work. You are a gift to me on this day, I may weigh my options to remain on Amazon outside of the KDP program. My plan is to combine the collection of each poetry book into one. I do not know if you have my email direct…it is annjohnsonmurphree.author@gmail.com Thank you so much, Ann
